  Aloha All Attached are the results of the Foundation.  We put $92,000 into local community activities, including $25,000 to Youth Services, $20,000 to the Rotary Park in the Kilauea Park, and $10,000 shown under Professional Services for architectural services for the Kupuna pavilion in Princeville, and $6,000 for the" Hanalei Bucks” program.  Most of the expenses were for dedicated accounts.  (International Services, Vocational Services, Community Services, Environmental Services, Youth Services, Next Generations, Club Services, and Community Emergency Responses.) Bill Schilling was a powerhouse fund raiser for the Fit Lot and Kupuna Park.  He raised well in excess of $200,000.  I am sure we are all aware of the dramatic supply and inflation events we are currently experiencing.  Further construction scheduling is currently more expensive than normal.  It is our hope that the falling commodity prices being experienced this month on the mainland may result in some easing of pric

Every year Rotarians around the world change their club leaders on July1st.  This year, as JOY BRAHMST accepted the gavel from Co - Past Presidents Ron Margolis and William Schilling, They lauded Bill and Ron's leadership and adaptability in a difficult year.  Despite a pandemic, our Club continues the tradition of BIG projects in the North Shore Community and in service activities as community members looked for connections and ways to "give back".  Ron and Bill thanked their Board members for their outstanding work and a new Board was sworn in.  Paul Harris Awards were awarded for outstanding contributions.

Jones says she sees Rotary’s Action Plan as a catalyst for increasing Rotary’s impact. “As we reflect upon our new strategic priorities, we could have never envisioned that  our ability to adapt  would become our North Star during what is inarguably the most profound time in recent history,” Jones said in her vision statement. “Silver linings rise out of the most challenging circumstances. Using metric-driven goals, I will harness this historic landscape to innovate, educate, and communicate opportunities that reflect today’s reality.” Jones pledge: I pledge to  Grow Rotary  by hosting DEI Summits to create leadership opportunities that foster balance across our membership.

 John Harder spearheaded another successful highway pickup.  He had numerous volunteers picking up trash with their bright pink shirts.  Thank you John and all of the Volunteers.

  Club   President’s Letter   2022   -   2023   Dear   Fellow   Rotarians  and   Friends  of   Rotary,   It  is   my   honor   and   privilege   to   serve   as   your  28 th   President   of   the  Rotary   Club   of Hanalei Bay, established in 1994 .   We are the   one of five clubs in the Kauai   County . I   don’t   have   to   tell   you   that   we   are  starting   this   year   under   very challenging  circumstances   as we try to move past the  COVID -19   Global   Pandemic.  The   Rotary   International   theme  this   year  is   “IMAGINE.”   Currently,   our   club  is   meeting  in person at The Cliffs in Princeville, with a  Zoom option,   the 1st and 3 rd   Thursday starting   at   12:00   p.m.   NOW   would   be   the  perfect   opportunity   to   attend   an  in person or tune in  virtual ly to a  meeting, and  to   see   all   the great   works   that   our   Club   provides.   Locally,   our   Club   is   involved   in   dozens   of   projects.   For   example,   ove
